One company that supports thousands of grocery jobs is continuing to succeed.

The most recent proxy statement from The Kroger Company, which was filed last week, shows that the company continues to grow and expand. Kroger supports many Denver Colorado jobs (http://denver.jobing.com) through its City Market and King Soopers stores.

During 2010, Kroger saw total sales of $82.2 billion, a 7.1 percent increase from the $76.7 billion the company brought in during 2009. The company saw net earnings of about $1.12 billion last year, which is up from $79 million during 2009.

Full-Fill Industries recently announced its plans to expand the company’s facility in Henning and hire 150 new employees during the next year. The new positions will mainly be for management, administrative, and production professionals.

The company currently has 94 full-time employees at its plant that specializes in producing cooking spray. Expansion plans include building three new high-speed production lines in 25,000-square-feet of new manufacturing space and construction of a 108,000 square-foot warehouse and distribution building.

San Diego Manufacturing Jobs Cut with Continental Maritime

Continental Maritime recently announced that it will cut 74 jobs from the company’s ship repair business on San Diego Bay. The cuts are being made in response to federal budget delays that are negatively affecting the ship building business.

Employees who are slated for layoff include 24 pipe fitters, 15 ship fitters, seven mechanics, six boilermakers, six production support workers, five riggers, four painters, four sheet metal workers, and three drivers.
