Docufide, Inc. is planning to move the company’s headquarters from Los Angeles to Scottsdale. That move will initially create about 20 new jobs in the metro Phoenix area with the potential to create many more positions in the near future.
The company’s existing 35 employees will remain in Los Angeles, where the current headquarters will be turned into a satellite office. The 20 jobs in Scottsdale will mostly be for engineering and sales positions and will be filled locally. Docufide also plans to lease some office space at SkySong.
The decision to move Docufide’s headquarters was made after Matthew L. Pittinsky, Ph.D., was recently named as the company’s CEO. Pittinsky is an assistant professor at Arizona State University and co-founder, former CEO, and former executive chairman of Blackboard Inc.
“When I made the decision to join Docufide as its CEO, I considered several regions in the country to determine the best place to grow an early-stage company before deciding on Scottsdale,” Pittinsky said in a statement. “Arizona and Greater Phoenix have in place a robust education technology infrastructure that includes a talented workforce, sector leaders such as Apollo Group, Pearson, and Blackboard, and the unique resources offered by Arizona State University.”
Docufide, which was founded in 2003, is a Software-as-a-Service platform that allows users to electronically deliver, manage, and analyze education records. The company’s software has been used by more than 7,000 high schools, colleges, and universities.
