Dallas Sales Jobs Created by New VCE Headquarters

An emerging tech company is creating hundreds of Dallas sales jobs for people who want to sell cloud-based computing solutions to businesses.

The Texas Enterprise Fund recently announced that it will invest $2.45 million in the Virtual Computing Environment Company. The company plans to use the funding to build a new headquarters in Richardson, a nearby suburb of Dallas, which will create 434 new Dallas tech jobs and generate about $35 million.

VCE’s new headquarters will be located in 87,000 square feet of space in the Collins Crossing building on Greenville Avenue in Richardson. The company – which already has operations in Dallas, as well as Massachusetts and Silicon Valley – plans to move into that space by this spring.

Colorado Grocery Store Jobs Supported by Proposed Beer Law

One proposed law could create many new Colorado grocery store jobs (Click here), but could end up costing jobs at liquor stores and cutting revenues.

A bill that would allow grocery and convenience stores to sell high-strength beer was recently passed by the House Committee on Economic and Business Development and will now move to the House for further debate. This is the fourth year such a measure has been proposed, but the first time it has made it to the House.

Part of the reason that the bill has made it so far this time is that proponents of the measure are framing the argument around the number of Denver Colorado jobs such a law would create. Many store owners say this law would allow them to better compete with liquor stores and eventually allow them to add new jobs.

Sales Jobs in Phoenix Area Benefit from Increasing Revenue

Sales jobs in Phoenix (Click here) will most likely benefit from the improving revenue picture in neighboring Mesa.

A recent analysis of data by The Arizona Republic found that Mesa saw a sizable increase in yearly sales tax revenue – about 6.2 percent – during January. Aside from May of last year, when revenue increased by .1 percent, this is the first time revenue has increased in more than three years.

However, the city still continues to suffer from lagging revenue, with current sales tax collections remaining about $5.7 million less than what was budgeted and overall revenue coming in millions of dollars lower than before the economic downturn.

Registered Nursing Jobs Phoenix at New Health Center

Banner Health recently announced its plans to build a new neighborhood health center in Verrado, a neighborhood in the nearby Phoenix suburb of Buckeye. Initially, employees at the new facility will provide primary care, such as medical imaging and lab services, with plans to provide more specialty care in the future.

“We’re excited to be able to move forward on meeting the community health needs in Verrado,” Jim Brannon, CEO of Banner Medical Group, said in a statement. “We’ll open the health center with up to four primary care providers and, as the population increases, the number of providers and services will grow as well.”

PT Jobs Phoenix Expanded with ActiveRx

ActiveRx Rehabilitation recently announced that it will make the company available to franchisees who want to open their own branch. The company, which is based in Chandler, a nearby suburb of Phoenix, provides physical therapy and medically supervised exercise services to seniors.

Non for Profit Jobs Grow in Maryland

While the rest of the economy plummeted to its lowest point in years, one state continued adding non for profit jobs.

A new report from Maryland Nonprofits found that the state added a total of 22,205 nonprofit jobs – an increase of 9.5 percent – between 2004 and 2009. Maryland’s nonprofit industry grew by 2 percent during 2009 alone, which is welcome news given the state of the economy at that time.

Maryland’s nonprofit industry currently employs about 255,408 people, which accounts for about 10.6 percent of the state’s total workforce. Roughly 26 percent of all Baltimore jobs are in the nonprofit industry, the largest percentage of any city in the state.

CRM Spending to Increase This Year

A large number of companies are planning to spend more money on CRM this year.

A recent report from Gartner, Inc. found that companies are planning to spend more on customer relationship management software this year than any other application software. Worldwide, a total of 31 percent of companies are planning to increase spending on application software during 2011.

Of those, 42 percent plan to increase spending on CRM, while 39 percent plan to allocate more spending on office suites, and 36 percent plan to spend more on enterprise resource planning. The survey included responses from more than 1,500 IT leaders in 40 different countries.

Arizona Pharmacy Jobs Face New Law

Those with Arizona pharmacy jobs (Click here) may soon face stricter laws when it comes to selling prescription drugs.

Officials in the City of Peoria, a nearby suburb of Phoenix, are considering a law that would require pharmacy shoppers to provide an identification and be fingerprinted when purchasing certain drugs. The effort is aimed at cutting down on the abuse of some drugs, such as OxyContin and Percocet.

Sales Careers Texas to Grow at Restaurants

Restaurants will increase the number of sales careers Texas (Click here) has to offer this year.

The “2011 Restaurant Industry Forecast” predicts that restaurant industry sales throughout Texas will increase by 3.9 percent to $36.7 billion. The state falls behind only North Carolina, Idaho, and Virginia in terms of projected growth.

The report, which is the most recent from the National Restaurant Association, predicts that restaurant industry sales nationwide will reach a record high of $604 billion this year. This would mark the first period of positive sales growth in three years.
